Sharon Jones, Treasurer

Sharon has been working for the Texas Department of Public Safety for 23 plus years. She is currently assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division as a Major. She is a graduate of the Northwestern Police Staff and Command School and a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy.In addition, Sharon has a Bachelor degree in Business Administration and a Master degree in Public Administration. Sharon is also a master peace officer and she received the Trilogy Award for attending the Federal Bureau of Investigation Law Enforcement Executive Development Association.

Sharon has managed numerous organized criminal investigations which resulted in the disruption and dismantlement of organized threats such as crimes against persons, transnational gangs and drug cartels.

Sharon is sought after by other law enforcement officers both internally and externally for mentorship, guidance and direction. She was twice appointed by the executive leadership of the Texas Department of Public Safety to represent her agency on a statewide agency council for women.

Known for her innovativeness, forward thinking and gap bridging abilities, Sharon was chosen by the Director of the Texas Department of Public Safety and assigned to a federal law enforcement agency to represent local, state and tribal law enforcement agencies throughout the United States in formulating policies and procedures pertaining to criminal interdiction.

Sharon has conducted classified briefings to senior members of law enforcement agencies, the military and the intelligence community, as well as conducted numerous presentations to audiences varying in size, rank, title and profession.

Sharon specializes in criminal investigations, intelligence, management administration and interpersonal communication. Sharon’s husband serves and protects our community as well; he works for the Texas Department of Public safety as a Major in the Texas Highway Patrol Division.
